Poetry: Let me be myself

by B.W. Harold

Created on: October 14, 2009   Last Updated: May 19, 2012

I'm hard to know...I hide from the mirror,

from myself.

Cowering high in this lofty tower, afraid to be myself.

Wounded by slights and poisonous tongues, unsure if I can be myself.

The image in the mirror is so different from how I feel, a stranger to myself.

Will the stranger let me be me?

The question still goes unanswered.
