How to copy music CDs to an iPod

The iPods main selling point is simplicity. It is not overly complicated with thousands of buttons and hundreds of menus, and thus it seems only logical that anything related to the iPod is going to be relatively simple. And this rings true in this particular instance also, as it is very simple to copy music CDs to an iPod. We can break this down into a few very easy steps:

Import your songs.

Firstly, we'll have to import our songs from the CD, which is another term for copy. As we insert the CD, we are given the option of "Import files with iTunes", and by clicking this, we have successfully imported the songs to iTunes, and these songs appear with a little green sign next to them to show that the import has been successful.

Connect your iPod.

The next step is to connect your iPod Nano, Shuffle, Touch or iPhone and wait for iTunes to recognize and finish syncing it, and initializes. Now we make sure that all the songs that we would like to "sync" or copy are selected. In newer versions of iTunes this is unnecessary and an alternate process can be followed: Once you have copied your purchased CD's songs to your computer, go to iTunes, click on File, click on Add file if there is only one song or click on Add folder if you wish to add the contents of the entire folder.

Sync.

We now move to our iPod. Click on the tab or name of your iPod, then move to the Music tab. here we have several options, and what we want to do is click on "Sync all files" and then click on the "Sync" button. Now we wait, as it typically takes only a few minutes to copy the songs our wait is not too long. After the sync is complete, click on the "eject" icon next to your iPod's name and then disconnect your iPod from the Usb cable.

And there you have it. You have now successfully copied the songs from your Media disk or music CD to your iPod, and are now at leisure to go anywhere you want with almost your entire life's worth of songs, depending on the iPod. It must also be mentioned that downloading songs from the Internet without paying is illegal and subject to copyright, and buying pirated CD's is also a crime in many country's around the world.
