Why Abraham Lincoln deserves the title, 'The Great Emancipator'

President Abraham Lincoln took office in a very difficult and very different time. Today, the word slavery is just that, a word. But in Lincoln's time, it was so much more than an adjective that described a state of being. The south had come to depend on buying and selling black men and women like cattle, and as they would with a prized mule or strong horse, they would make them plow the fields, often under-nourished, living in accommodations that were primitive. The penalty for not working hard enough sometimes could have been getting whipped, or going without food or water. They did have to be careful though, if their slaves died, they were expensive to replace.

President Lincoln did what had to be done, and it is something I think few presidents would have had the guts to stand up to. He stood up to the Confederacy just as Ronald Reagan stood up to the Soviet Union. The Civil War was anything but a Cold War though.

What caused the philosophy powering the slave trade?

The bible has taught that animals only bring forth after their own kind. A dog cannot conceive a kitten... A bird cannot hatch a fish, nor can a horse conceive a calf. Yet evolution has taught we are all from the same soup, yet because we whites were civilized and generally more prosperous than our colored counterparts, there had to be some kind of survival of the fittest, that we were somehow superior. This is the same philosophy that led Adolf Hitler to committing genocide in the name of purifying the bloodlines. The argument that blacks were just animals, not even close to white humans was due to evolution type thinking.

On the other hand, science will even confirm that a horse will never conceive a cow, and a dog will never conceive a cat, but white and black folk can have children together. Now I will say that it is a curse to the kid that is born, being neither white, nor black, he is sure to be ridiculed by both colors. So from that standpoint, I believe it is wrong for so called "interracial marriage", it is a cruel life you have in store for your offspring. Since blacks and whites can intermarry and have kids between each other, that proves, through science, and scripture, that we are all the same kind of animal, neither better than the other.

I will point out, however, blacks have certain natural advantages over whites, and whites tend to have certain other natural advantages over blacks, in much the same way as any other animals are different. If you want to pull a wagon, a Clydesdale
