Is The American Church Too Comfortable?
This is a very good question to consider! First, let me say that the church is NOT a building but rather the people that make up the body of Christ. I want to make sure there's a clear understanding regarding the definition of "the church". Let's consider taking a look at the church in America and what she represents. We have several denominations that are involved in the church. We have Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, Mormons, etc. just to name a few. Again, the people are the church and not the denominations nor a building. Besides, there's a whole lot of false teachings going on in some of these very denominations that claim to know Jesus Christ and the sad fact is-they don't know HIM! These so called churches are full of heretics, demons from hell, tares and people who just want to attend a 'social club' once or twice a week. Basically, these meeting places belong to Satan himself. Satan has always wanted to be just like the MOST HIGH and he does have his followers in this world, too. As a matter of fact, Satan is the god of this world. That is what the Bible teaches regarding Satan having control of the world system right now.
I think the church in America is very comfortable. She doesn't want to rock the boat, break a leg, or stand for TRUTH any longer. We may offend someone terribly if we speak up, speak out or stand up for what is right and moral. Why is America in the shape that she is in now? Why? I'll tell you why-those of us who claim Jesus Christ as Saviour are not on fire like we should be for the sake of our country. We've become lazy, disobedient and just plain uncaring! We've made our home among the heathen right here-right now. We've intermingled with the world; worshiped false idols; we're living like those around us that don't know the Lord; we've become settled and so very comfortable here on this earth knowing that this is NOT our home! We've forgotten the real reason that we're here and it is to win souls for Jesus Christ. That is our purpose in America as soldiers of the Lord!
Another observation that reveals a high comfort level of the church in America is the fact that Christians no longer meet at the Lord's house to worship HIM but we meet to satisfy our own fleshly selfish desires. This is a very sad scenario. My family and I left a large church not long ago because of some things within the church that we could not accept. Some of those things included having a pool table; a gaming system
