Poetry: Missing a loved one

by Christopher Towle

Created on: October 13, 2009

I wish you were here
For this music's so sweet
I hope you can hear
Our notes played so neat

It's wonderous to feel
Two beats become one
It hardly seems real
But it's as warm as the sun

I've been dreaming of you
Longing for your gentle touch
There isn't a lot I can do
But wish for you so much

I see home in your eyes
Even though it's just a picture
More beautiful than the skies
With feeling even richer

Do you feel what I say?
If you do please let me know
This isn't my usual way
But this is how I let it show

I miss you more than ever
We have never met
But that won't last forever
Even the sun has to set

I hope you can see
Loves best endeavour
That's what we could be
Maybe now and forever...
