Thanksgiving party games for children

Before the thanksgiving holiday arrives plan out a fun and easy activity schedule for the children. You can do almost anything to make a child's holiday celebration experience memorable. Games are always a pleaser and can be enjoyed anytime of the year. Get ready, for I have put together a list of thrills for your kiddies to take pleasure in.

Keep it totally fun and simple by initiating a potato sack race in the back yard. Potato sack racing is a very enjoyable sport mainly for kids but adults can participate too and have just as much fun. Here is how you play the game: Begin by picking up two potato sack bags from your local grocery store or stand. If you don't want to shop for them you can use a pillow case or a laundry bag. You also need to buy or find two cones. Split everyone who wants to play up into two groups to form separate teams. The more people you gather the more fun this will be. There will be two lines of players. The person in front of each line starts the game. Each one puts both legs into their sack and hops around the cone, and runs back tagging the next person waiting in line. Next that person will go and so on and so forth. The last team to the finish line wins the game. If it is their first time playing a parent can demonstrate what to do to ensure safety. This game helps your children develop better coordination and athletic abilities.

Allow the little ones to make mini turkeys. Not literally, they can create adorable magnets to go on the refrigerator. Lay out some newspaper or an old table cloth on the floor to protect your carpet since this activity gets pretty messy. You will need paper, coloring utensils, popsicle sticks, glue, scissors, feathers and colored leaves. Once you have arranged all the supplies, let them loose like the turkeys they are going to build. Assist them with the scissors when cutting out their sketches of their turkeys. They will have fun coloring and gluing their turkeys for you to show what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Bobbing for apples is another great activity for kids. This game is popular on Halloween, but it is played even on Thanksgiving Day and on St Patrick's Day (normally with green apples). Fill a large basin or tub with water. Put in as many apples that will fit inside leaving plenty of water where they can float comfortably. With hands tied behind player's backs they plunge their heads into the water trying to catch one at a time with their teeth.
