Obese passengers should be made to pay!

Obesity is a national disaster. This nation needs to recognize that obesity is as major an issue as War, Peace, and the divorce of Kate and Jon. Too many people are becoming victims of obesity because this nation is not doing enough to eradicate this plague!

Just like hiking up punishments for drunk drivers may cause less drunk driving, and hiking up cigarrette prices may stop more people from beginning to smoke, making obese people pay for their extra baggage may cause more people to be less obese! In other words, it may increase this nation's motivation to become more informed consumers, eat healthier, demand healthier ingredients in commercial foods, buy more produce than sugary snacks, and get rid of school soda and snack machines.

Obese parents will be more serious about educating and improving their chubby child's diet. Obese grandparents (if they live that long) will warn and encourage their grandchildren and let them know what the consenquences of their weight are.

The world will be healthier!

Not only should obese people pay for an extra seat, tickets should be priced by weight. The more you weigh, the more you pay, unless you have a card to prove you belong to Dieter's Anonymous, and then you get a nice discount, and everybody claps for you when you walk past.

Obese people are, of course, obese because they overeat. Right? So they are not only taking up more space, they are using up more of the overall food quota than they should be using. People are starving in Africa! Should they pay? Of course they should pay!

They also make this world a more unpleasant place, besides for crowded. Wouldn't it be nice if you got onto a flight and all the women- all of them- looked like Jennifer Aniston or Angelina Jolie? No fat ladies anymore, because they will all have lost weight so they don't have to pay the (literal) price this country will have placed on obesity!

Exemptions should be allowed, with a doctor's note, if obesity is not due merely to eating too much steak and drinking too much beer.

Beer bellies should pay more because they really have no excuse. They could have been skinny if they would've found more productive activities to do with their buddies every Sunday, and brought a salad to the games instead of ordering five frankfurters and then thinking that a diet coke will atone for them.

On flights, complimentary beverages should only be diet beverages, or no more than 25 calories a can.

Taxis and movie theaters can charge more per weight as well.

This nation will become one of much more prettier people!

As for rampant eating disorders, Obese rights activists (would be an interesting change from gay rights activists) and fat people sob stories and advocacy on probably every radio station-it's always easier to blame the fat guy, and we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!

At least the bridge won't collapse under our combined weight!
