Yes, I do believe in the paranormal. Thankfully we live in a modern age, where we can admit that we do believe in something more. I'm not saying religious belief; I'm talking about something more than life.
Most of us have seen TV shows in which someone goes into a building and says that there's someone there with them, and no one else sees it. And most people will also say that since its TV, they probably fixed it to seem haunted. The issue here is: is everyone who dedicates their lives to the paranormal, lying? I find it hard to believe. It would be a huge conspiracy if this was true, for there are paranormal stories from everywhere around the world, and many of them don't have a logical explanation. How can someone not believe in the paranormal when you see that even with high tech equipment, specialized crews, scientists, and what not, can't find a reasonable explanation for some phenomena? Are they all lying? Again, I don't believe they are.
The issue here is that we still live in a time where these things aren't very well taken by the majority of the community, and we can't blame them. I find it curious that some religious people claim to have seen miracles, that could be considered paranormal activity, and when confronted with paranormal activity they deny it with all their might. It's interesting to say the very least.
Now, I don't want to start a war against religion, for that is not the issue here. The real issue is to know if I believe or not in the paranormal. Let me tell you of an experience I had.
I was spending a few days with my girlfriend and her parents in the countryside, at a house they own. I believe the house is about 60 years old, and it is in a very isolated little town. Not many people around, nor much movement, we've all seen this.
During the day, I have to admit, I don't think much about it, although I don't really like the place. At night things change completely. I have trouble sleeping, not due to fear, it's something I can't really explain, almost as if the house has something within it that makes me feel like that. My girlfriend has the worst end of it. She has no sleep during the time we spend at that place, and she gets very scared. She just feels that she shouldn't be there.
Now, we've all heard stories like this, but I know what I feel at that place, and my girlfriend does too, and it isn't normal. To me specially, since I've slept in every kind of house there is, new, old, and ancient, you name it, and this was the first time I had trouble sleeping anywhere.
So yes, I do believe in the paranormal, but I don't want to force my view of this issue on anyone else. We're all entitled to an opinion, and the more the better.
