Most children love Halloween.   Its thrilling, imaginative and silly. Its the one holiday that is strictly celebrated for fun.  A Halloween party offers a unique way for kids to have fun and celebrate the spookiest holiday. Most kids love party games and a Halloween or an autumn theme can easily be incorporated into many classic party games. And many other party games are best suited only for this special time of year. Here are just a few game ideas for your next Halloween party:

Spooky Scavenger Hunt-

Kids love scavenger hunts. A spooky twist can be put on a scavenger hunt by scavenging after dark. A great idea for a scavenger hunt for younger children is to have them scavenging for items that are needed to paint their own pumpkins. The first clue may lead the children to flashlights to help them along on their dark journey with the last clue leading to a "homemade" pumpkin patch to pick their very own pumpkins. Children should always be escorted by their adults especially if it's dark outdoors. You will need miniature pumpkins (one for each child attending), paints, paintbrushes, glitter, glue, stickers, googly eyes or anything else that may be used for decorating pumpkins.

Blazing Pumpkin-

Blazing pumpkin is a spin-off of the children's party game classic "hot potato". Kids gather in a circle and toss a jack-be-little pumpkin around the circle while an adult controls Halloween themed music. A great song for this game is "The Monster Mash". Every time the music stops the child who is holding "blazing pumpkin" is out of the game. The last child standing is the winner.

The Scarecrow Game-

The scarecrow game is an exciting relay game for kids of all ages. Even adults can join in the fun. Two opposing teams race to dress their designated scarecrow. Each side chooses a scarecrow from their players and he stands in a scarecrow position with his team members all around. At the other end of the racecourse lays five or six articles of clothing. One by one the players race and pick up an article of clothing and dress their team's "scarecrow". The team that has its scarecrow dressed first wins.

Bobbing for Apples-

Bobbing for apples is a classic fall party game and is always a hit. However with the growing concern over illness and spreading germs there are other ways to enjoy bobbing for apples. Prize apples may be marked and placed in the water along with unmarked apples. While blindfolded children may take turns picking an apple. If a child picks a "special" apple he is awarded a prize. Apples may also be tied to low hanging tree limbs. With arms held behind their backs children grab for apples with their teeth. If a child catches and apple he gets a prize.

Mummy Wrap-

Mummy wrap is another relay game where opposing teams try and wrap their mummies the fastest. Each team designates a "mummy" and using three rolls of toilet paper his team members race to wrap him. The first team to wrap their mummy and use all of their toilet paper wins the game.
