It's finding humor and taking joy in the little things in life that are truly important. If one surrounds themselves with pessimism and negativity all the time, it will surely consume them. You have to be able to laugh at yourself and at others. If you have children this is even more important. Children are so innocent and often really do say the darnedest things. If you have kids you need to stop and realize that they shouldn't be burdened with the ongoing hardships that we are faced with as adults. Whether you have children or not, you need to live, laugh, love and play! There have been so many times in my life where I almost let my bad luck or bad mood get the best of me. If it weren't for a wonderful group of friends who knew how to cheer me up and just what to say to make me smile then I'm positive I'd just be 600 pounds, laying in bed and feeling sorry for myself everyday!

A lot of terrible things have happened in my life. Especially recently within the last 5 months. I know that if I didn't have an extremely good sense of humor that these things might have just plagued me and put me in a constant state of depression. If you are a spiritual person, I'm sure there have even been times when you have thought, God sure does have a sense of humor doesn't he. If you have kids I'm sure there have been times when they have said or done something to just make you burst out laughing at them at least once or twice. And doesn't that feel good?! I mean seriously what better medicine is there? ( I mean seriously, besides the herbal kind..blah, blah, blah for you users.)

I'll share some stories of laughter with you, compliments of my children. My daughter was staying the night at her cousin's house when she was 3 years old and her cousin who was 8 was in the bathroom and had just gotten out of the shower. My daughter burst in exposing her naked. Her cousin says Geez, can't I get any privacy! And my daughter being 3 says I ain't got no privacy! Too funny! Ok one more. My youngest daughter was sleeping over her grandparents house and she was outside with them in the yard. She was fascinated with the garden hose. She kept squeezing the trigger, but no water would come out! She was very disappointed. She dragged the garden hose over to my dad and said Pappy! This thing needs more batteries it's not working! See now those are the type of stories that make a mom's day!

So next time you go to put the milk in the cabinet and the cereal in the fridge! Don't get all flustered, laugh at yourself!
