I'm announcing it and coining the haircut for the masses.
I call it the POSH BOB.
Yes, David and Victoria Beckham are taking the US by storm. The two made headlines in late January after the masculine half of this dynamic duo inked a $250 Million deal to play soccer stateside. (Victoria did the wifely homemaker type stuff - shopping for a house in the hills and having tea with Katie Holmes).
All fabulously interesting news items, but none to match last year's debut of Victoria's POSH BOB. I declare it now that in six months to one year from now it will be as popular as Jennifer Aniston's low-graduation (that's stylist-speak for a shag cut).
Back in the 90's, Victoria Adams thrilled as one-fifth of the huge pop group from the UK - The Spice Girls - and brought into our lives the rich girl bob. I didn't bite then, but I have to confess I was torn between being a fan of Posh or Ginger. I didn't have the clavicals to actually BE Posh - so I dyed my mane red and named Ginger my fav'. I also looked high and low for a Union Jack dress to no avail.
After Miss Adams fateful marriage to Mr. Soccer - aka David Beckham - I was swept up in the magic of such a team. Three children later they are still going strong. (Let's all keep our fingers together that rubbing shoulders with TomKat and the rantings of Tom's favourite science-fiction writer won't weaken the perfect union.) So I've moved Posh into my number one spot for favourite Spice Girl and even copied her now TRADEMARK haircut.
I do not have the jutting hip bones, the size 0 jean-wearing skill, or the french manicured toenails but slap me in a chair and colour my roots, I can pull off that haircut! Ironically, I asked for a bob, my stylist cut it and styled it and we were both going for Posh without even discussing it.
I wanted to make out with myself when I saw it.
You too, can have the POSH BOB - join the ranks. It's time to give Anishag and the Marsha Brady straight look the boot.
Victoria can kick off her newest hair craze - you can be the first in your neighbourhood/school/workplace to get it and I'll be famous for giving it the official name.
It looks good on me, I highly recommend it. Maybe I should have kept it to myself?
