The Blackberry Curve also known as the crackberry is a PDA phone that is currently supported by most of the major cell phone providers. This review focuses on the quality of the blackberry curve phone and service on the Verizon Network.
I have had the Blackberry curve for about six months now and have used it in the Midwest and California. I have had excellent service in both places, Verizon has a lot of towers and so you are pretty much guaranteed service anywhere that another provider has service and even more than that. (My t-mobile phone worked very poorly in the Midwest and so there is something to be said for a company having a lot of towers).
The Blackberry is a great phone because it is such a great time saver and it keeps you in the loop at all times. This is because you can get all of your emails directed to your cell phone- that means you are always aware of what your clients, friends or family may need. You also have text messaging and bbm, the blackberry mobile messenger that lets you message with other blackberry users without paying for text message fees.
Some other great features that I take advantage of are: facebook, gmail messenger, AIM, AP news and CBS news. All of these are free features on the blackberry curve. I also paid to download a Pictionary game for when I was bored, and love to play it.
The phone also contains a digital camera, video camera, calendar, music player, calculator, alarm, memo pad, maps and a task keeper. Pretty much any feature you could ever want or need from a phone is available with the blackberry curve. Add to that the phone is also pretty small and looks good, you have a winner of a phone.
One of the best features that the blackberry curve offers Verizon customers is that you can use the phone as a wireless modem and access the internet on your laptop anywhere you get Verizon service, just by attaching your phone to your laptop. This feature is called tethering and you can find out how to do it here.
Another great feature is that my blackberry car charger also works for my GPS system so that I can just keep one power supply in my car and switch that out as I need to.
