In today's fast-paced world, it is difficult to find time to stop and smell the flowers; difficult, but not impossible. Sometimes you need an excuse to step off the merry-go-round of life and enjoy the simple things. Rainy days are perfect excuses to slow things down and create a little romance between you and your partner. Many times people hear the word romance and they think of the commercial side of things; roses, jewelry, expensive dinners, and amazing trips to Paris. But romance does not need to take the form of Hollywood's vision, which often means spending a ton of money. Instead romance means more when it comes from the heart and takes on a more original and much cheaper form. Here is a fun list of Rainy Day Romance ideas that you and your partner can do (rain included or not).
* Create special coupons to be redeemed when the mood strikes you. These can be as simple as 'do the dishes for me' or 'rub my feet tonight' and as adventurous as 'try out a new fantasy of my choice'. At the beginning of each month pass out five coupons to your partner to be redeemed whenever they feel they need them and vice versa.
* Have an inside picnic. Lay down a blanket in the living room or in the bedroom. If you don't have a fireplace, light the room with candles. Be sure to prepare finger foods as they are so much fun to eat and feed your partner. Don't forget the bubbly (Champagne).
* Have a family member or friend watch the kids for the night and have a grown up movie night on the couch. Each person should pick one movie and watch both of your favorites. Pop some popcorn and curl up on the couch together.
* Try something adventurous; dance on the patio or in the rain. There is something extremely sexy about rain falling on your skin while you are embracing each other. If you live in a populated area still do this. Some people get nervous about public shows of affection, but public shows of affection are romantic ways of showing your partner and the world you love them.
* Slow things down and write each other a love letter. Yes an actual love letter. Don't text a quick 'love you' simply write down on a piece of paper why you love your partner and give it to them.
* Do the household chores together. Offer a helping hand.
* Create a scrap book together. Grab that box of pictures and your partner and become a creative duo. Creativity and memories can be very romantic recipe.
* Pull the games out of the closet and play a game together.
With a little creativity you can take things you do every day and use them for a 'Rainy Day Romance' activity. Hopefully, this list will get you thinking about what you and your partner can do that is romantic yet not extremely expensive, and the next day you are trapped inside on a rainy day, pull out one of these and make that rainy day a romantic day.
