these are my memories, these memories of you are mine
this withered and aged memory, this overused and abused memory,
rarely now i can view you in the clearest of lights,this mind randomly allows you back into my line of site,
you can never fully appreciate the value of a smile, the significance of a kiss, the depth of longing in which you had been missed,
these are only years, these years have been mine,
following so closely and yet trailing so far behind,
always scratching just below the surface, or catering toward the blind,
you were mine, now all i have are these memories,
and now these memories are mine.
are you alright, are you suffering?
are you satisfied, are you tearing yourself apart for another?
sometimes with-in my memories of you i begin to see the light of another day,
sometimes there is nothing but a single smile,
but we were both the best of liars to each other,
but why should this change me,
why should this change how i remember you?

At couples who met

At the end of each day
To sit there in silence
Barely connected
And So I Loved You From Silence
