Memories of Texas are calling me, calling me home
Never ever have I felt so very alone
Texas adopted me and made me it's own
Texas is calling me, calling me home

Walking barefoot in the sand, of the welcoming gulf shore
Such sites of wonderment, Id never seen before
How I miss the grandeur of Texas with its big endless sky
It was so terribly hard having to say my goodbye

How I miss the welcoming waves of hello
From the friendly people I didn't yet know.
The community and generosity when down on your luck,
Big open hearts, and yes, everyone there owns a truck!

Going down by the bayou, listening to the bullfrog's song.
The moisture in the air, rain is soon coming along.
The history that seeps through the dark black soil,
gave riches that comes from the discovering of oil.

Ghosts of the Alamo, on their brave fateful night.
Ride on their ponies and fade out of sight.
Hurricanes, fires and floods never will win
True Texans will always start over again.

The spirit of Texas rings true in my soul
to never give up, and to reach for your goal.
I will be back, to Texas, my song
Back to the place where I know I belong.
