Where I am from, the skies glow
With the deepest of hues and the stars
Burn brilliant in the darkest of those.
Where I am from, the lake waters glow
Clear like cellophane to the rocky, ground floor
and lives cold to beat the height of summer.
Where I am from, wild animals roam
Past my home through memories of morning coffee
In the sanctuary of this place I call 'where I am from'.
