Top SNES games of all time

by Bruce Bostwick

When it comes to the Super Nintendo, there are many games that were created that were enjoyable. What exactly were the top games created? It is one that would be considered the subject of debate. To list all of the really good games can be difficult and also each person has their own point of view in terms of what was liked the most. Listing all of the games will be tough but it is going to be a matter of opinion because everybody has their own view. Without further or do, here are some of the top SNES games ever created.

Without question, Super Mario World would have to be considered one of the best put together games that had been created without question. Taking from the Super Mario Land 2 game in terms of the map and secret areas, it made the game more challenging than ever in terms of trying to discover every single secret involved if desired to do so. Also, from Super Mario 3 there would be the case of having the Koopa Kids. It was in Dino land and would introduce Yoshi to the mix. Looking back on it, that worked out perfectly and he was a great addition. While the plot was similar to the other Mario games, it doesn't take away from the replay value it had.

A game such as Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past would be one that would have to be really put together well enough to enjoy for Zelda fans. Some did resent the fact that Zelda 2 was extremely different but this one went back to the overworld. To add on to the game, there would be a Dark World phase. The story was modified a bit turning into a quest to fix both worlds because of the evil influence of Ganon. It was once again up to Link to be able to save the day and to also rescue Princess Zelda. In this one, Link is introduced to moving in all eight directions for the first time and considering that it was on the Super Nintendo, it could be pulled off rather smooth.

When it comes to Castlevania, they usually are hits and Super Castlevania IV would be no different. It does not seem like a remake to the original game and would have a simple theme of attempting to stop Dracula from ruling the world. Simon Belmont would be able to use the whip to swing in different directions as necessary. It took from the first and the third game and applied it rather well. To be honest, there isn't much in regards to the second game considering that was of a different genre. Having a simple story, with some difficulty, and of course the fun factor puts that as a top game created for the Super Nintendo.

It should be mentioned about Mega Man X and of course others getting involved such as Super Metroid and Donkey Kong Country. You could even throw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles in Time in the mix in that respect. Those were solid and enjoyable to play. Without question, they really worked hard on them. To really pick out the top games has to be considered hard but these ones mentioned are ones that have been really done well and great games to pick up. There are really good Super Nintendo games but it comes down to personal opinion at the end of the day.
