Enter Legion
I still can't believe Mr. James asked me to do it. Surely this must be some kind of vile trick. There was no way I could possibly refuse, after all, Kim would be there.
And I couldn't possibly think of a better treat. Of course, Kim wasn't the only person I knew that would be present, Big Bear Brian was coming and so was Kevin Aspen, Wixler's younger brother. I chose to remain close to the team even after I graduated, so it wasn't an entirely unexpected surprise when Mr. James asked me to have a small Halloween get together for the team.
I had asked Mateo to help me get the place ready, and he had seen to it to invite some other students to the party, I expected about 20. I needed Mateo's help, although he didn't know why.
Just yesterday I had managed to bind a demon into the back bedroom. The binding circle was complicated and difficult, it required blood, my blood.
I needed Mateo to help me organize events as far away from that bedroom as possible until I figured out what to do about the demon. So far it had refused to give me any information, like why it was after me. With Halloween around the corner I knew something must be up, not a good sign that this one was after me. And now I was hosting a party for a group of teenagers.
I would never forgive myself if anything happened to these guys. Especially Kim.
So Mateo and I spent the entire day preparing the house. We acquired spooky props and decorations, filled pumpkins with candy, and carefully blocked off that part of the house. Mateo had no idea why,
Bay, I want your advise about this, Mateo called to me from across the room. I turned to see him with a bag and a shoebox sized metal container that he had brought from his house just down the street.
What do you have there?
I brought a few weapons from my collection, the scarier kind, but real weapons among a bunch of high school students? I don't know.
We know these guys, it should be fine... I trailed off as my eyes were drawn to the metal container. There were odd shapes all over it, but of particular interest there was a circle. A circle oddly familiar. A circle very similar to the one binding the demon just a fe yards from where we stood.
Mateo, what is in the box?
This? He asked laying the bag on the ground and lifting the container towards me for a closer look. This is one of my prized possessions. You could say it started my collection, been handed down through the family for ages. My father had it hidden away and when I came across it
