RVing: A full-time adventure

Our Mission Statement: Off to the Next Adventure

Since we decided five years ago to become fulltime RV'ers, we have never looked back. We sold everything, the house, the furniture, and most of the stuff, bought a fifth wheel big enough to live in, a truck big enough to pull it, and started living the good life.

It's a great way of life. No lawn to mow, no pool to clean, no house to paint, and no taxes to pay. If you decide you don't like your surroundings or your neighbors, your house has wheels. You can be off to the next destination in no time flat.

So, why would anyone choose to live this way all the time? Because, there is a great big world out there, and we want to see and experience it all. National Parks with geysers, or, trees that have lived for thousands of years, that are so tall, you can't even see the tops of them.

We have always vacationed in fabulous places, such as Estes Park in Colorado in the summer, Breckenridge Colorado in the winter, cruises to Alaska, and Hawaii, and a big question I always had was, do you just become immune to this much beauty?

What I am learning as we travel fulltime is, around the next corner is even more beautiful than what has gone before. This last trip, we headed west from Texas, because we had not gone that direction yet. There were so many beautiful places to visit, so we just stopped at each one on the way.

Palo Duro Canyon in Texas was just awesome, but then we saw the Painted Desert in New Mexico, which then was overshadowed by the Grand Canyon in Arizona . . .until we saw Sedona, Arizona.

I am almost sure that Sedona gave all the previous places a run for their money, however, we still haven't seen Bryce Canyon, Arches National Park, and all the HooDoos in Utah.

It's all fabulous. I'm not sure if a lifetime of fulltime traveling adventures in our RV will be enough time to see all the wonders of this great lifestyle.

Because we retired early, we are not quite old enough to take full advantage of retirement funds without paying penalties, so we have been working as we go. Hubby contracts with a State College, and teaches classes wherever they are scheduled. We also contract with RV Parks as activities directors, and other miscellaneous duties.

We have found the old adage to be true, "where there's a will, there's a way."

Get out there and make it happen.
