Fitness plays a huge role in our everyday lives, however one of the most overlooked parts of what should be part our daily routine. To many people what exercise is something they would like to do but not something they have time to do.
First I'd like to go over some of the benefits to having a workout as part of your daily routine.
Increased Blood Flow - Enables the body to function better.
Increased Metabolism - Allows your body to burn fat & calories more effectively.
Muscular Strength & Endurance - Your body is better able to handle the physical demands of the day to day.
I will say this to you now, unless you are willing to make a commitment to fitness and know that your goals will be reached only through dedication. Set small attainable goals so your able to recognize the progress you make not only in fitness but in life as well.
Next I'd like to show you a simple workout for those just looking for the basics.
Push-ups - Can either be in full position or half position from knees whichever is most comfortable. You can also change hand positions on the floor to work different areas.
Abdominal Contraction - You start standing inhale and hold next bend over slowly as if you were going to touch your toes as you bend over exhale as much as you can and hold, then tense your stomach and return to up right potion (remembering not to inhale) once in full standing position inhale. Works the inner and outer abdominal muscles, allowing natural strengthening of the lower back a commonly injured part of the body.
Flexing Squats - Stand with feet slightly more then shoulder with apart, focus on a area of the ceiling (this is important because it keeps your body in proper alignment), flex your legs as you bend your knees keeping your toes inline with your knees stop when comfortable hold the position for three seconds return to standing position. The farther you bend your knees the more the muscles are worked, but listen to your body know your limits.
These three exercises done together will get you in great functional shape and give your body a good place to start from. For your first few workouts do one set for all three exercises until unable to maintain proper form. Once you get in the routine you can mix it up however you like, which is important as muscles adapt quickly.
So all together you have three simple exercises all can be done in a small in a short period of time strengthening and toning muscle and burning calories. Giving you a start on the path to living healthier and the best part is you didn't have to spend a penny to do it.
