Bella Vita! Its heard everywhere as you walk through the streets, and there is no better way to describe the mood of Italy. Each city has its own special charm to it, and its is almost impossible to find a place in Italy that you can go to and not be touched.
Sure there are the three favorite cities: Rome, Florence, and Venice. These cities have earned their heavy tourism by enchanting people with beautiful glimpses at days gone by. All three are so different and bring such different flavors to its visitors.
In Rome you can walk down the paths of the forum and drink in the busy market place that stood there a fifteen hundred years ago. The Colosseum offers haunting shouts of gruesome fights that ended steps away from you stand. The fountains are beautiful, and you wish that every road you had ever taken would have already led you to Rome. The southern climate gives you soft nights and flavorful days.
Then as you travel north towards Florence, you pass through the gentle tuscan hillside. Your car winds through vineyards and you see people riding their bikes from their villas to where ever it is they are headed to that day. It seems like a page of yesterday was torn out and brought to life. The countryside represents so many pages of Italy's history as it has remained a constant part of Italian culture for so long. The cypress trees line the hills of the olive groves and the vineyards. It seems that today could be any day in Italy's history.
Finally you reach Florence. The crown jewel of the Renaissance, this city has everything you could imagine. From its breath-taking duomo to the enchanting Ponte Vecchio, the architecture is like nothing else. However, its not just the outside of buildings thats impressive, but wait till you find the treasures inside them. The Uffizi's endless galleries of art and the Academia's David are just some of the timeless gifts that Florence has to offer its guests.
After you taste the life of a Florentine, its time to move along to Venice. This is where all your dreams of Italy come to life. The men are striking and charming. The wine is luscious, and just when you think you are floating, you realize its not you, its the city. The doorways are half covered with water, but seep with the stories of royalty. The glasswork is unique to Venice so that when you leave, you might be able to take a little bit of your time in Italy with you.
Italy truly is the most enchanting place in the world. The food is always amazing, the weather is almost always picture perfect, and the people are generous. Its a place like no other and to some, its a dream come true.
