How to talk to a girl that you like for the first time

The first time you talk to a girl that you like can be nerve-wracking. You are probably self-conscious about your looks, your stature in life, or even your likability. You want to break the ice with this gal, but how should you do it? What are you going to say to her when you do get up the nerve to approach her? Learning to talk to a girl that you like is not as hard as you may think it is. Sometimes, we think about something so much that we scare ourselves in the process.

You must have confidence in yourself. Take with you the knowledge that you are a good person with a lot to offer someone. Do not be overly confident, to the point where you come off as a smug character. That is definitely not attractive, but be confident when you approach her, head held high, and realize that she may actually have the jitters about meeting and talking to you for the first time. Tell yourself that no matter how the girl you like reacts to your introduction, you are going to be okay with it. Do not blow up with pressure over how she may react.

First, make sure that she is not around a bunch of her friends, or in the middle of something that requires her concentration at the time. Wait until she is by herself, or just hanging out comfortably somewhere. When you approach her, start by telling her hello and ask her how she is doing. Usually, at this point there is an awkward silence. What is the perfect thing to say? Well, there really is not a perfect thing to say. Give her a complement, and smile as you tell her that you have looked forward to meeting her.

Once the ice is broken, just be open and honest with her. Look for subjects that both of you may have in common. Find out what type of movies she likes, and maybe you can ask her out to a movie. The most important thing you can do is treat her with respect. Try to make her laugh and feel good about herself. Do not give up that special meeting of a girl you really like just because you have a knot in the pit of your stomach. Butterflies are normal, and a part of the dance that two people who are attracted to each other experience.
