First dates are exciting, nerve-wracking, and hold great possibilities all at the same time. Ladies, do not over-interrogate your guys by interviewing them with a host of questions that will drive him away, but throw in some fun questions that will put a smile on his face and break the ice that usually prevails on a first date. You should already know that he is not an axe murderer, so enjoy your first date and throw a question or two as the night progresses, so you learn more about your beau, and if you are lucky, you may go out on another date with him!

When is your birthday?

Your date will not mind telling you when his birthday falls each year. This will open the conversation up a little bit and the two of you can discuss birthdays and things you have done on your special day.

What kind of movies do you like to watch?

The type of movie a guy watches will give away a little bit about your guy. Most of them will tell you they like action or drama, which is the most popular type of movie. This opens up your conversation to a multitude of things that the two of you can discuss, like the last time you went to the movies, whether you have seen this movie or that one, and will make your date a little smoother.

Do you have any tattoos or piercings?

If your date has any tattoos, more than likely, he will be delighted to tell you the meaning behind them, and piercings seem to be very popular these days. The two of you can spend a lot of time discussing this subject.

Do you have any pets?

This is when he might tell you that he has a 10-foot Boa Constrictor, or a monkey that he keeps in his room. If he has any pets, he will not mind discussing this with you.

What is your favorite color?

Believe it or not, a person's favorite color can tell you a lot about their personality. If they like red, they are usually a very bold person, purple is passionate, blue is blue. This is another fun question to ask when you go out on your first date.

Where have you gone on vacation in the past, and where would you like to go?

The two of you can talk for hours on this subject, and you can find it if you both like going to the same places.

You can ask so many good, fun questions on your first date. The secret here is to open up with something that is not too personal. The first date is a time when you can find out if he likes Coke better Pepsi, or vice versa. You can find out if he like fishing or boating. Perhaps you can find out what kind of work he plans on doing during his career. As you grow together, you can ask the more personal questions, but for now, just have fun!
