Wolverine? Stop trying to stick pencils in your skin
It's make believe and only pretend.
Why not a fire fighter
Or a witch with a hat and a wig?
Good Lord, it's hard to fill a fantasy!
Monster masks and sweatshirts,
Suggestion more than terror,
Oh no it has to be
Like real when you're only three.
Memory lane and Mom
Putting bananas on my head
Carmine Miranda I remember with dread.
Those bananas fell
Turned trick or treat
Into slippery hell.
Nightmare of shopping
Candy would be cheaper
Maybe next year
He can be the Reaper
Halloween fantasy and fun
Thank God it's only once a year!

Halloween night evokes a distinct feeling,
vaguely serene blends itself with obscene.
Unseen screams reverberate off moonbeams.
Ghoulies and Goblins
And a ghost in a sheet
Meet one another out
There in the street.
Now here comes a witch
Riding
Moonlights edge rests on shoulders black,
Glowing masks lighting night shine bright,
Leering people pass causing fright,
Transformation,
once achieved,
if the guise is well-conceived,
let's the wearer of the costume
disappear.
