Poetry: Halloween horror

by Merrie Root

All of the webs were hanging with spiders galore

we had to walk through them to get to the door.

I was scared, I was shaking, I wanted to run

but my brother convinced me, it would be fun.

My heart was pounding as I went through the web

only to find a man with no head.

A girl in a coffin and blood everywhere

a ghost and a vampire also were there.

"Please come in" the eerie voice said

this is the house of living and dead.

Don't be afraid, just take a chance

but I couldn't move for I'd wet in my pants.
