The Book of Exodus is a Book whose theme is Deliverance. It tells the story of the Children of Israel and their deliverance from the bondage of slavery in Egypt and their journey to the land that God had promised their fore fathers. The whole Book of Exodus is pregnant with wonderful truths and concepts that enriches the daily lives of those who follow the Lord. One of the first truths that we can glean from the fertile fields of Exodus is that God blesses all those who remain in close relationship with Him. He is the Lord their God and they become His Holy people.

Secondly, the Book of Exodus explains very pointedly what is acceptable to the Lord. Thirdly, the Lord sets free those who are held in bondage. This deliverance may take time and maybe an on going process but it will take place and those who the Lord delivers and sets free will is free indeed. The deliverance is brought about by the work of Jesus Christ and is based upon obedience to God's will. Throughout the Book of Exodus we see that God had His hand upon His people. Since we know His presence in our lives and the work He does we can seek to adjust our lives to live according to His will and continue to receive His blessings in our daily lives.

The people were about to encounter the Lord. In order to do so they had to prepare their hearts. They had to consecrate themselves unto the Lord. I believe that this portion of Scripture speaks loudly to all Christ followers today. In order to have a heart to heart encounter with the Lord we too need to make preparations in order to meet the Lord. We need to be consecrated afresh to Him. We read in verses 14 and 15 So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people and they washed their clothes and
