Does God talk to everyone?

Does God speak to everyone? Yes. People do not always trust that it is the voice. It is a small still voice, but if you ask, it can be a brick wall. I know because I had a hard time hearing so I asked if I could have a burning bush. It turned into brick walls, definitely not fun. I did listen.

As the joke with a man in a flood is on top of his roof, he prays for God to save him. A man in a rowboat comes to save him. Again, he says no I am waiting for God. Then a speedboat comes by to save him. Again, he says no I am waiting for God. Finally, a helicopter comes by to save him. Again, he says no I am waiting for God. He dies asking God. Why did you not save me? God told him I sent a rowboat, a speedboat and a helicopter and you refused them.

It takes practice to learn to listen to God. The voice of God will tell a person to see a friend only to find that person needs a friend. The voice of God will tell a person to leave some place to find something bad happens there.

Every human has a voice inside of him or her. Dr. Phil Self Matters talks about the voice inside us. He does not say it is God's voice. He does say to write down your thoughts. A person has thoughts that make us feel bad or good.

The voices not of God:

A person does not grow, because the voice dwells on injustices done. Voices giving the person that is detrimental to the person. Voices make a person mad, cynical, desire drugs, illicit sex, or any carnal desire.

A person can be wrapped up in feeling bad about them and keep doing things that keep them from enjoying life. I had a hard time listen to that voice. I did not want to listen to the voice. Things got bad for me. My mom, dad, step mom, and step dad died in one year and I got a divorce. I was crying so hard one day. Many of my friends had said I needed to pray to God and listen to what He said. I kept saying yes I do, but I did not. I was standing on a street corner waiting for the walk light. A dirty man with a backpack came up to me. I grabbed my purse close to me. He said, Pray and Trust God. As soon as he said that, I thought to myself. Ok I guess I do need to listen.

I went home and prayed, it took awhile. I am still learning and at times, I do not get what he is asking, but I put less value in material things than I did.
