Many of us have some skeletons in the closet. As the holidays approach, you may think about getting them cleared out. Living with those skeletons can be unhealthy, mentally, to carry around. It can cause a great deal of unnecessary grief. What is better said now should never be put off until later. Only you know what the secret is that you are keeping. Think about coming clean with it before the holiday season begins.

Here are some reasons that you should think about getting rid of the skeletons in your closet before the holidays:

Freedom- There is nothing like getting rid of the skeletons in the closet to give you freedom. You will feel more free than you have ever felt in your life if you get the skeletons out of the closet before the holidays. If it causes problems between you and others, you can feel safe in knowing that you only have to go through it one time on your life. Things will settle down and you will forever be free of the fear of having someone find out your secret.

Honesty- Getting rid of pesky skeletons in the closet allows you to be completely honest with the people that you care most about. It doesn't matter what the skeletons are. If someone loves you, they will find a way to work through it and accept you for who you are. It may take some time for them to adjust, but it will get there.

Being yourself- You will be able to be yourself once you get rid of the skeletons in your closet. There is are few things that are as important as that is. There is nothing worse than trying to pretend to be something you aren't. Be who you are always and everything else will fall into place. Give yourself a break and show the world who you really are. If they don't like it, that's not your problem.

New beginnings- If you don't come clean with your skeletons now, it puts off starting your new beginning. There is a new beginning for everyone. Finding the new beginning starts with let the skeletons out of the closet and forgiveness into your heart. The holidays are the best time to share that forgiveness with those whom you love.

You may never get another chance- If something happens, you may never get another chance to get those skeletons free from your closet. That means that people will never know the true you. Give yourself a chance to show the real you. Forgive yourself or others and move on. If you don't get the skeletons out, you have done a disservice to yourself and those you love.

Skeletons in the closet will remain there for as long as you let them. They will try to break free, but without your help, they will stay locked away forever. Allowing yourself and others the peace that comes with getting the skeletons out of the closet during the holidays is the best gift you can give.
