SURROGATES NO WESTWORLD

Surrogates may look like another remake, but it doesn't even come close. Bruce Willis plays yet another cop in the near future and your probably wondering why he is looks so young and dapper in this movie along with looking so much older in other parts.

Most of us who remember WestWorld may recall that James Brolin and Richard Benjamin went to WestWorld to live out their fantasy vacation. The catch is the players are robots. One character in particular which was played by Yul Brynner was a robot out of control. In this movie, the humans are at home while they make their surrogates do the work while they are under a machine that makes the robots work. Then the mystery begins when the surrogates are being killed along with their human counter parts. If you remember The Fifth Element another Bruce Willis movie, this one really doesn't come close. You can tell the difference between the humans and the surrogates, which was the makeup and the hair stylist on the actors like Bruce Willis, or should I say his younger counterpart. But wait a minute; I think this is in another world of its own especially with robots in the story. Like I *Robot there is a mystery to be solve in this movie which involves different variations of the Cantor's surrogates. Cantor is the creator of these surrogates which had made different robots of his son whcih is how the story started in this movie. At the beginning it shows a surrogate being killed, but by whom or what?

Then there is the prophet played by Ving Rhames who claims he is totally against these surrogates, and has followers which of course are humans. This does give you a since of the End of Times but with the surrogates in the big cities I give the look of the future that may become frightening, but wanted more at the end.

The movie overall is not like Minority Report but it does have action like Terminator, only it's Bruce Willis and a little bit of mystery. The lesson in this movie is that there is nothing wrong with getting older. We live and we die, and that is how were brought up to learn. These kinds of movies are great for the Science Fiction Fan to enjoy, but for the most part this movie it's worth two and a half pumpkins.
