Most powerful superheroes

by Robert Cramer

Created on: October 07, 2009

It's a bird! No, it's a plane! No, it's a man in skimpy blue tights and a cape. Ah superheroes. How we love them. Everyone has their favorite and many read the comics growing up. Others have watched the recent influx of movies that have been based on comic book heroes. What if we had to rank the most powerful heroes in comics today? Who would come out on top? Does brute strength beat telekinesis? Is flying better than super speed? These are the questions which have plagued mankind since, well since the internet really. Before that these conversations were held in small groups, comic stores and some conventions. Maybe we can figure this out, let's have a look.

So this will be mainly focused on Marvel and D.C. comics as those are the two most popular and mainstream. We are also speaking of the most powerful and not the most loved or popular. Weaknesses will also be taken into account as this can be a huge determent for a hero. That being said, let's have our hero throw down and see who comes out on top.

Starting at number 10 is your friend and mine the Green Lantern. Their powers originate from their green ring. With the combination of their green ring, their will power, and their imagination, the ring can do many things. It can create objects; allow the lantern to fly as well as almost anything else one can think of. This can be very useful. That being said, remove the ring, which is not easy mind you, and the Green Lantern becomes a regular guy. Not only that, the green ring is not effective against things which are yellow. So if the Green Lantern loses his ring or has to fight Big Bird, they will not be so helpful.

Coming in at number nine is the Black Bolt. This is not one of the more well known heroes as he has not had a cartoon or movie, but he is definitely feared in the Marvel Universe. It is said that his mere voice is capable of destroying an entire planet. That alone is fairly scary. He this man hums in the shower that could end us all. His actual power is that he can harness energy to create energized blasts or force fields. As far as I know, he does not have any outstanding weaknesses, other than death.

Number 8 will be The Sentry. This is another Marvel Hero. Super Speed, Super Strength, Super Senses, Flight equals superma no no no wait, this is the Sentry. He is also charged via the
