The thought of getting a high ranking website is top priority for most everyone that has a site on line. The general conception is that if your site comes up first then you will get more bussines. This is a very true according to statistics, the first site seen or the front page gets the customer. the problem is how do you get to be on the first page where your site is ranked in the top ten?

The thought of doing this for free is ideal for the person that is starting on a fixed budget, where funds are limited. I am going to give you step by step instructions on how to do this, however it will be totally up to you to implement these steps.

STEP 1)First you will need to pick a DOMAIN NAME that will reflect your bussines or niche. A niche is a specific area or product I prefer the area approach. The area is different than a general catagory. Let me give you an example: i want to sell car audio, well i am not going to use car audio that is to generalized instead I am going to specify an area car audio cd players. Do you see the difference? This also allows me a simple place to start looking for my domain name. Do not make your domain name to long though.

STEP2)Now that I have my domain name I need to start thinking about KEYWORDS.Keywords are words that the search engines use to locate and catagorize your website pages.My suggestion is to make sure that your domain neame reprsents your keywords. EXAMPLE; Caraudiocdplayers would be my domain(www.yourdomain.com)so I would want my keywords to be car,audio,cd,players,-now you will have alot more than just these four. You will want about 300-500 keywords all corresponding to your products.Try to use your main key words at least 3 times each.Use plural words when possible.

STEP3)KEYWORD PHRASES are the same as your keywords but phrases. In order to find what keyword phrases people are using you need to find a free keyword analyzing tool.You can find these free. When in doubt start typing go to (ask . com). this will show you a very wide selection of phrases that people used to find what they wanted on the internet. This will show you exactly what keyword phrases to use.

STEP4)THE HOME PAGE of your website is important, this is where you will use all of your keywords and phrases while you are describing your products. Inside the ADMINISTRATON SECTION of your site you will find a place to install all of your keywords and phrases along with your domain name. All the website builders are a little different sitebuilder allows you to title and tag each page. Which I think is best.

STEP5)You will need to regiter with all of your search engines,GOOGLE,YAHOO,MSN These are the top 3 again you can find anything you will need for free just go to(www. ask . com) and start typing it will take you some time to register and will take the search engines time to crawl your site. So regiter as soon as possible.

These are the 5 basic steps for you to get your website ranked in the top 100. Getting ranked higher will take you time and fine tuning your site. This will not happen overnight however it will happen. I have used the very same steps and my site is ranked #1 on some of my keywords and phrases. I consistently stay in the top 40 under all my keywords and phrases. Getting other sites to link to your site will help your ranking also, try to get sites that are in the same general catagory as yours.
