How to Relax and be Stress-Free

Stress - the starting point of all diseases

We all know that in this century that in spite of acquiring lot of wealth, possessing lot of financial assets, a home and a good family, people generally are not satisfied with their health. Most of them, either suffer mentally or physically. Medical Research has clearly proved that most of the diseases, from the mildest to the deadliest have a common starting point. Yes, most of them originate due to stress.


What is Stress and Why Do We Feel The Stress?


Stress is actually the response of the body to the impulses generated by the brain. As the brain feels the pressure, be it at work, home, in family, in relationships or in the community, it generates impulses that get passed to all the organs of the body through the nerves. The body produces hormones according to the impulses of the brain. Stress hormones are produced by the body to cope with the pressure situation that is felt by the brain. This is generally the way stress is felt by a person. Stress has its origins in the brain and its effects are felt throughout the body. For example, heart beat gets increased, breathing becomes faster or abnormal, and body temperature changes abnormally. So, stress causes variations in the vital signs of the body. Hence, a person who is stressed may feel tightness and severe discomfort. If the stress continues for a long time, the discomfort may transform into a disease (which is dis + ease).


Empower yourself - be stress-free

Now, let me explain you the solutions or the ways to get rid of stress. Though the manifestations of stress are physical in the way of diseases, the origin of stress is purely psychological. You can be stress-free and be relaxed in whatever social condition you may be at present. How is it possible? If you just think a little, you may find that most of the stress that we feel comes either due to thoughts about the events that happened in the past or thoughts about the future or the worries about future. The easiest and most powerful way to relax and to be stress-free is to just to do a simple meditation for 5-10 minutes. Our mind has the medicine for everything. Harnessing the power of the mind is the powerful way to get rid of stress. For this, you have to teach the mind how to think and empower your mind through meditation. Here, I will just give you thoughts that you can use for your meditation. Just select a quiet place in your house which you do not use frequently. Make sure that there is nothing to distract you. Now, sitting calmly, watch your thoughts. It is not difficult. Just imagine yourself as an observer and observe your mind and the thoughts generated in the mind. As you learn to stop and watch your thoughts and feelings, you will notice that the speed of thoughts and number of thoughts gradually decrease. Continue to watch till the thoughts slow down completely. Now, just by watching your thoughts, you have attained the mastery of slowing down your thoughts and to silence your mind. As you master this skill of watching your thoughts as observer, your stress will be greatly reduced and you will feel that your mind gets energized as the thoughts slow down. Then, affirm yourself gently "Peace is my True Nature and I Will Remain Peaceful Forever."


Try to stay with this awareness for sometime and then continue with your routine activities. You will fee the change and that the stress had vanished into thin air.


Be positive. Take things lightly. Be stress-free.
