There are some ways that won't cost you more than 20.00 to 70.00 dollars and one all you need is some blankets and pillows. My first suggestion is look around the 5 star drum shops in your area. They sell a lot of the stuff at a good price and in the sizes for your drum heads. The reason I say drum heads is because they make rubber mats that go on the batter side of you drum head. They make them for the cymbals too. The nice thing is you do not have to buy whole packs if all you need is one for the snare. The ones for the snare are meant to take a beating. No assembly or glue required. They just lay on top off the head. They act like a suction cup so they do not slide off the drum when you play it.The real nice thing about them is they keep some tone to them but are quiet enough not to disturb any body and gives are ears a break they deserve with in a reasonable price range. The other way you do not even need money just some old blankets and pillows. The only thing you do with these is stuff them in you shells carefully of course. That is all you have to do. Plus it saves gas. Those are ways I used to used. Then I looked at electronic drums expensive things but good for effects on the acoustics.
