Best birthday gifts for moms

The hardest person to buy a birthday present for, but the one who loves anything you get, is Mom! It's true. Every gift a child gives their mother is remembered and loved more than anything. Most kids don't have alot of money so here are some inexpensive, yet creative, ideas that Mom will enjoy and remember for years.

An Appreciation Coupon Book - Make coupon size pieces of paper (about 10). Use a heavier stock paper and choose light colors. Once all the pieces are cut into the approximate size of coupons, choose one for the cover and label it "Appreciation Coupon Book". The following coupons can be for a variety of things. One can be for "three garbage take outs", another for "laundry folding for a week", or "five dog walks", or my favorite "watch four episodes of favorite show". Anything you think she might like help with or doesn't get to do very often. Be creative with the design of each coupon - stickers, drawings, different colored markers. Once all your coupons are finished, punch two holes at the end and thread some colored wool to hold it together like a book.

Mini Spa - Probably not the best choice for sons! But how about a min spa at home . Give Mom a manicure and pedicure. To start, pick a favorite color - or even two - one for the fingers and one for the toes! Take some of Mom's favorite lotion and gently rub into her hands. Very relaxing. She can wash her feet first if it is at the end of the day. Than start painting! Don't worry about how it looks. It won't matter to her.

Mugs 'n Such - If you get an allowance, this is inexpensive but much appreciated. Go to your favorite dollar store and find the biggest mug you can! Than start to fill it with a couple small packs of different teas, honey sticks, a package of instant hot chocolate, her favorite cookies. Or fill the mug with some of her favorite treats! Add some ribbon to the handle and it will be something she can always use.

Some ideas that are quick, easy and always appreciated are: breakfast in bed, homemade cards, a hug accompanied by I Love You.

Just remember, that no matter what Mom receives for her birthday, she knows it is given with love. Have fun and be creative. No ideas is too big or too small.
