David Letterman admitted on TV that he had numerous affairs. Should he have admitted to this on his show? Yes. Few people in public have taken responsibility for their actions. They have openly disputed the claims. He is open with much of his life such as his heart attack and the threat of kidnapping.

He has made jokes about having affairs for several years with some cute woman or going to a prostitute. Yes, he has made jokes about politicians having affairs. His job as a comedian is taking the news or controversy and joking about it. The first one to do this publicly was Will Rogers. Comedians make fun of everything; it kind of gets our minds off our everyday world or lets us laugh at our problems.

He is not saying he was innocent. The tabloids would have made the story much worse than it already is. David is like anyone with power. He has woman chasing after him. I do not think that relationships at work are a good idea. This is wrong. What if the girl was promoted - maybe it had nothing to do with David Letterman? Was David wrong? Yes.

People at work, can become attracted to each other. If one of the people is married, there is a problem. Some of the women and men, I have worked with have said if a person is single there is not a problem. Was David Letterman fair game or not? That is the question, but maybe that is the reason he got married after so many years of being single. He does love his son. He did not get married until just a few months ago.

He may have lost the respect of many people, but on the other hand, some may respect that he came clean. This will have given David a chance to look at himself. He will have to think about how far he can go with his jokes. How far he will, he go to protect his family. There is a lot to clean up from his mistake. Again yes, David Letterman should have made a statement instead of trying to deny the truth. Why did the blackmailer feel he could get away with his scheme? Was it jealousy because his girlfriend may have been involved with David? Was it because of the debt the blackmailer owed? Do some people hold others responsible for their debt problems?
