Developing a better relationship with your customers is easier than you might think and can actually increase your turn over and make for a secure future. For example, you may be in the situation where business is ticking over. Customers are happy with your services and things are going well . However, you must be aware that there will be others out there looking for customers. Your customers may not be as loyal as you think once they are lured by offers, discounts and better service perhaps. So, before people begin to look anywhere else but at your business, think about how you can improve even the best of relationships.
First, think about what your customers buy from you. Are there knock-on services or goods you could offer? If you sell plants, can you work with a landscaper to offer landscaping services at good rates? Can you include or expand the range of seeds for sale along with the plants and could you perhaps offer tools or some other essential to help your customers even more?
Talk to your customers and see if you are really offering the best for their money. What would they ideally like to see when they come in? Are they getting something else at another business after buying their main purchases from you? Could you offer this as well for more convenience?
Do your customers find your store appealing? If it is an office are the 'phones answered well? Are all your staff welcoming, knowledgeable and courteous to customers? Are they directeed to the right place? It is only by talking to those upon whom your business relies that you will find how to develop a better relationship with your customers.
Never assume customers will keep coming back, always seek new opportunities where you can develop relationships, make new contacts and customers. Above all, never take customers for granted. We can all improve and customer relationships are one of the most vital areas to continue working in for continued business.
Really get to know andunderstand your products, market and customers so you can better understand their needs and think to yourself ,' why, if I wanted this, would I keep coming back to this busiess?' Customers' needs will change and you must change with them or you run the danger of becoming staid and losing dynamism.
Develop better relationships with your customers - after all, they are valued and should feel that way.
