Every household has an electrical bill which usually fluctuates depending on the season, however sometimes they can feel as if they are constantly increasing, especially in an instable financial economy or at times where one wants to save money. It is however, possible to reduce electricity bills by a considerable amount. Knowing how to trim down electricity bills is the key, with a little perseverance to save some kilowatts each day, you next bill will definitely make you smile.

Here are the top tips to reduce your electricity bill:

1. Washing Machine
The average load isn't necessarily a full load, and the cycle is a long one, 1 hour and 30 minutes and this is where a lot of the electricity is being wasted. All one needs to do is invest in a good quality washing detergent that works for cold loads such as the new Ariel Excel Gel. Start using our washing machine on a cooler cycle and a quick wash for most of our loads, all clothes just need to be clean, and a short wash using a good detergent will certainly get your clothes cleaned in a quick amount of time In addition the washing machine should be turned off by the button, which many can forget to do thus using more electricity.

2. Dryer
Instead of using a tumble dryer to dry clothes, one should get their clothes air dried. You can hang clothes in the back garden or purchase rails which you are supposed to hang washed garments in the home. However, if you do need to use the tumble dryer make full use of it on a full load in order to get the most possible usage out of that cycle.

2. Dishwasher
If everyone all cleaned our dishes by hand after one finished using them, there would be no real need for a dishwasher; it uses electricity and a lot of water, again on a fairly long cycle. By washing up with our hands one saves water and a lot of electricity. Start by washing up every other day and before long you’ll be using that dishwasher occasionally.

3. Appliances
Many times TV's, box tops, computers, internet modem, printers, microwaves and chargers are just left on, which added up time and time again are an extreme waste of electricity. Start turning of the TV and box tops via the button or switch when they are not in use. In addition, some individuals do not use our internet during the night or during some parts in the day so they could be switched off. Turning off these appliances may seem like a little petty task, however in the long run they will not show on your electricity bill and you will notice.
