Facebook is the world's most popular social networking site in the world with around 250 million members. It contains connections to friends and families, games and various other programs to add. One of these popular games is Mafia Wars, in the game you build up your mafia family. You do so by fighting opposing families, doing tasks and by buying property to make a profit. You can also send various useful items between other linked items between friends you are linked to. These items allow you to do more complicated jobs in the game and to therefore pass through the respective levels. The various items have various uses and have varying difficulty in receiving. The items can be recieved by doing other jobs, by winning them in the mafia lottery or by receiving them from other players. You can send messages asking for certain items and you will also get random items sent to you unsolicited. You can then send loot to people who need them and they can send what you need. These items are known as loot and is stored under the inventory tag.

Each item has a different value and a different availability, this means if you can try and store rare goods you can then trade them. Perhaps not surprisingly considering the game the majority of the loot is weapons. When you beat another family or do certain criminals jobs you will pick up weapons or other loot. Also if the fight is done in your name the members of your team pick up things for you. The weapons can be used in future fights that need specific weapons, there are also explosives and other things for wiping out your enemies. As well as weapons you will find other useful things such as cars, planes and smaller items such as cameras, black mail photos and even stab vests.

Loot also includes people that can be useful for your world domination quest, bodyguards are one example as are computer hackers and members for your own street gang. Some items are used only when you are fighting a rival gang boss or member that appears as you rise through the ranks and the levels. These include first aid packs which give you extra health during a fight, a get away car if you want to run and a special knife for extra killing power. There are also a few items in the loot list that don't have such obvious uses such as broken glasses and a hip flask. All various pieces of loot will have uses eventually, it depends what you do and what level you reach.
