Along the way you earn points which and level up and also earn coins to purchase bigger and better items like clothes, furniture, and food. But like real-life, coins aren't so easy to come by. YoVille is a social game and it encourages players to interact with other players. One of the ways it does this is by award players with coins just for visiting other players' homes. By visiting your friends regularly you'll earn coins to spend on items and experience leading to higher levels and more unlocked items. You can also send gifts to your friends to help earn coins and experience.

Working is another way to make money both in real-life and in YoVille life. You can take a job as a baker and bake cakes to earn money. The work place is sort of a game where you put cakes into an oven and remove them when they're done to earn coins. Of course you have to make sure you remove them at just the right time so they're not ruined. You also have to clean the ovens and keep a regular schedule in the work place to make the most money possible.

Playing games against other players is also another fun way to make some coins in the game. You don't make a lot of coins, and you don't always win, but it is a fun way to earn money while spending time with a friend. Games like 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' and 'Tic-Tac-Toe' will award players who win with ten coins or five coins if the game is a tie. You can also go fishing to earn money catching fish, do some racing at the speedway, or take your chance by gambling at the casino.
