It is extremely difficult to tell if someone likes you from the opposite sex if there are not any obvious signs. To contradict that, almost always there are signs shown by the opposite sex that the person is interested in you if you pay attention; in this case, to the boy.

In a lot of cases, boys try not to be sensitive around other guys, but their eyes always deceives them. To tell if a guy is interested in you, wait til he gets around some of his friends and see were his attention is. Often boys will, if they like you, will give frequent looks at you if they like, you minus frowns and dirty looks.

Another way to tell if a boy is into you is by their actions. This is not always a sign that they are not, but can be used as a indicator that they are. As masculine as men attempt to be when in the presence of a lady a lot of times they can as sensitive as a nurturing mother. Oftentimes repeatedly asking if you're okay, if you need anything or volunteering their assistance.

Shy boys are a special case, because they will not have anything to say or seem like they are emotionally dead towards you. But a good way to tell if one likes you will be once again with their eyes. Shy boys, if they like you, will not be able to look into your eyes or put a understandable sentence together most of the time.

There is also what I like to call the tentative rule. A boy can hide their feelings with the best of them. Most guys wont show emotion for a girl for fear of embarrassment to his feelings. Well, the tentative rule is when you catch a guy off-guard. Say you like a boy who is your co-worker and he is really busy or in a conversation with another co-worker. Sneak up behind him and tap him on his shoulder when he least expects to see you. His turn-around facial reaction will say a lot. If he acts as if he just been caught doing something wrong he's a winner, he likes you.

There are no definite ways to tell if a boy likes you, but there are signs in most cases. If you are interested in a boy and want to know if that boy is in to you, then you will have to pay attention to a lot of signals as well as that inner desire for companionship.
