If you're looking for that edge over your rivals; the keys to winning fights and completing jobs, then you need to find the loot in Mafia Wars. Looted items cannot be bought in stores, are often better than those that can be, and cost nothing monetarily. So how do you get them? You receive looted items when you complete jobs and master tier levels. Here is a list of what you can find, where, and their benefits.

* Levels 1 - 4: Street Thug:

.22 Pistol (Attack +2 Defense 0) - This can be obtained in the 'Beat Up Rival Gangster' job. You will need to the have this weapon in order to complete the 'Blackmail the District Attorney' job in the Boss tier and you will need two .22 Pistols before you can 'Fix the Big Game' in the Consigliere tier.

9mm Semi-Automatic (Attack +3 Defense +2) - The 9mm is your reward for completing the 'Rob a Pimp' job.

Pistol Bayonet (deal +4% damage in fights) - Mastering all the jobs in the Street Thug tier three times will earn you this special bonus.

* Levels 5-8: Associate:

Butterfly Knife (Attack +2 Defense +1) - This item can be found in the 'Collect Protection Money' job.

Brass Knuckles (Attack +2 Defense +2) - A reward for completing the 'Rough Up Dealers' job.

.45 Revolver (Attack +3 Defense +2) - You can get a .45 by completing the 'Take Out a Rogue Cop' job. You will want to do this job a few times, as you will need two of these guns to complete the 'Burn Down a Tenement' job in the Enforcer tier. You will also need a .45 revolver for the 'Whack a Rival Crew Leader' job in the Capo tier.

Tactical Shotgun (Attack +3 Defense +2) - This item can be obtained by completing the 'Perform a Hit' job. Note that it may also be obtained through the free gift program. You will need two tactical shotguns to complete the 'Clip the Irish Mob's Local Enforcer' job in the Soldier tier and one to complete the 'Flip a Snitch' job in the Capo tier.

Bugatti (receive -7% damage in fights) - Mastering the Associate tier earns you this nice bonus.

* Levels 9-12: Soldier:

C4 (Attack +5 Defense +2) - This explosive weapon can be earned by completing the 'Destroy an Enemy Mob Hideout' job.

Stab-Proof Vest (Attack +2 Defense +5) - This armor is your prize for completing the 'Kill a Protected Snitch' job and can also be obtained through the free gift program.

Automatic Rifle (Attack +4 Defense +4) - This essential weapon can only be obtained in the 'Bust a Made Man out of Prison' job. You will need automatic rifles for the following jobs: Five for
