After reading the top 5 stories for this topic I was appalled by the ignorance of the writers. All of them sure of themselves, but lacking wisdom about the Bible. You see before you write on a subject you should research both sides.
1. In the book of Isaiah 40:22 (New International Version)
22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,
and its people are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy,
and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
The Bible clearly states here that the earth is a circle or a sphere. Back in the 1400s man was afraid to wonder to far out into the ocean fearing that it was flat.
2. Jeremiah 33:22
22 I will make the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars of the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore.'
The Bible clearly states that the stars are innumerable but less than 1000 years ago Science said there were only 1100 stars.
3. Job 26:7 (New International Version)
7 He spreads out the northern skies over empty space;
he suspends the earth over nothing.
Again there is no question that the Bible is talking about gravitational pull, but yet Scientist concluded less than a thousand years back that the earth sat on a very large animal.
4. Hebrews 11:3
3By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Can we conclude that the Bible is talking about atoms here? In the last century Science finally figured this one out.
5. 1 Corinthians 15:41 (New International Version)
41The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.
Less than 2000 years ago the Bible tells how all stars are different. Science believed back then that all stars were the same.
6. Job 38:19-20 (New International Version)
19 "What is the way to the abode of light?
And where does darkness reside?
20 Can you take them to their places?
Do you know the paths to their dwellings?
In these two verses we see that light moves. Science back then believed that light was fixed in place.
7. Job 28:25 (King James Version)
25To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.
We see here that air has weight to it. Scientist back then believed air was weightless.
8. Ecclesiastes 1:6 (King James Version)
6The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.
