A majority of people have experienced the disappointment and embarrassment of 'zits' at some point in their lives. If you follow these simple steps, you will learn how to get rid of zits easily and effectively. By making these minor adjustments in your daily routine, you will notice a large improvement when it comes to the care of your skin.
Acne generally forms when natural oils, dirt and bacteria clog your pores beneath your skin. This causes irritations and minor infections which swell and fill with unpleasant substances. To limit these clogged pores, try the following tips:
1) Keep your hands or objects from close contact with your face.
- Bacteria can easily spread from surfaces to your hands, and on to the skin on your face through contact. Make an attempt to keep your hands away from your face as much as possible to avoid transferring bacteria to your skin. You will also limit the amount of oil and dirt being rubbed into your pores. Athletes often find zits will appear where straps and bands have been in contact with the face and forehead. Limit the amount of objects touching these areas and you will limit the amount of dirt being pushed into the pores of your skin.
2) Use products with benzoyl peroxide
- Another way to get rid of zits is to use a variety of products which contain benzoyl peroxide. This is the active ingredient used in all acne medications, in varying degrees of potency. There are a number of soaps which contain a slight concentration of benzoyl peroxide, and will assist in drying out any excess amount of oils on your face without reducing the natural production by your skin. Creams, ointments, face washes and soaps with benzoyl peroxide are available at most pharmacies.
3) Apply ointments in all problem areas
- After careful washing of your face, make sure that the topical ointments are placed in the usual problem areas where breakouts of zits occur. Chances are, if one zit appears, there may be more to follow. By spreading the ointment around the affected area, you lessen the chances of other pores close to the area being clogged and irritated as well.
4) Avoid over washing your face
- In order to get rid of zits, you do not want to make the mistake of removing all of your natural oils by aggressively washing your skin. This does little to remove the dirt from clogged pores, and only makes the remaining pores more susceptible to free dirt and bacteria, thus creating more zits.
5) Monitor your diet and activities
- This method of getting rid of
