Iran is the New Iraq
The lies being told the American people about Iran are reminiscent of the lies told during the build-up to the war in Iraq. The American people, as a whole, don't like war and will only enter into one if they feel truly threatened. That is why the Bush administration had to lie and tell us that Saddam Hussein was an evil man who could not be allowed to have weapons of mass destruction. And, that is why they are now demonizing Iran and lying about their nuclear ambitions. The U.S. is building up toward war with Iran.
The first lie is that President Ahmadinejad said he was going to "wipe Israel off the map". He said no such thing. In a speech he gave in 2005 titled "The World Without Zionism" he quoted the late Ayatollah Khomeini who said that the "Zionist regime in Israel cannot withstand the test of time".
This simply means that although Israel may exist forever, the Zionists will not always be in control of it just as the Soviets would not always control Russia. The lie, however, still persists to this day and is continually used to demonize Iran.
Another lie is that Ahmadinejad is a holocaust denier. The formation of this lie was as easy to see as if it were written down on a map. It begins when Ahmadinejad gave a speech at the International Conference to Review the Global Vision of the Holocaust in 2006. Ahmadinejad has been an outspoken proponent of allowing historians to investigate the many angles of the Holocaust without the interference of Jewish organizations.
He believes there is still more of the story to learn and made a speech expressing his beliefs at the conference. The original report of this Conference casually mentioned that a couple of known holocaust deniers were in attendance and, like the childhood game of telephone, each time the story was repeated it changed until it was actually Ahmadinejad who was the holocaust denier.
The biggest lie is, of course, Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons. Like Brazil, Iran claims to be building a nuclear power plant to help supply the energy needs of its people so that they can export more of their oil for profit. Since oil is Iran's biggest export, this is a logical explanation and is completely within their rights.
They are members of the NPT and allow the IAEA to inspect their plant according to the rules of the treaty. The U.S. and Israel, however, are using this power plant to further demonize Iran.
Just recently Iran informed the U.N. that they were building a new nuclear fuel
