Eggs are the traditional food at breakfast time and they don't take long to cook no matter how you like your eggs, not only are they a good breakfast food but when you have a picnic eggs are a good sandwich filler.
Eggs are cheap and full of goodness, and there are a number of ways to cook them. I love eggs. My dad has a saying. "Go to work on an egg". They are so easy to cook, you can fry them, boil them scramble them, make an omelet with them, all these ways you can have for breakfast.
Let us take the first option of an egg for breakfast, the boiled chucky egg as I like to call them. First, you will need a small pan with water, the water has to be boiling, now with a spoon drop the egg into the water, now if you want your egg soft boiled, that is with the yolk runny then you time it for three minuets. If you want it hard boiled then you boil it for four minuets, it is that simple. There is no need to boil it any longer if you want it hard-boiled
Frying an egg is simple too. For this you will need a frying pan with a small amount of oil, it can be any kind of cooking oil, pour the oil into the frying pan and heat gently on the hob, do not have the oil to hot just hot enough for the egg to start so cook. Crack the eggshell and tip the egg into the frying pan. It will start to Cook right away, with a spoon gently tip some of the hot oil over the top of the egg. This will give it a nice looking finish the process will only take a couple of minuets; take it out right away with a spatula.
Scrambled eggs will take a little longer. Crack three eggs or more into a mixing bowl whisk with a fork or a mixing machine. Now this is were it can become exiting, you can if you wish put a few savoury flavourings, salt pepper, my favourite is a mixture of salt, pepper, garlic, and hot peppers that we have in a small tub dried and mixed together. Once you have mixed it together, pour it into a pan, in the pan melt a little butter. Put the pan on the hob on a gentle heat, stir with a fork or a spoon, you will notice that the egg mixture starts to get a little lumpy, keep stirring until all the mixture comes together, serve on buttered toast,
Omelette's will take a little bit longer as well, for Omelette's do the same as you would for scrambled eggs, but this time you can put whatever you want into them. Bacon bits, cheese, peppers, you name it you can put it in. now instead of putting the mixture into a pan, this time put it into a frying pan with a little melted butter or oil, put the frying pan onto the hob and cook gently, you will notice that the eggs will start to cook, when the bottom of the omelet is cooked transfer it to the grill still in the frying pan. this will then cook the top of the omelet, serve right away on a warm plate.
All these are quick easy ways to cook a good nutritious breakfast that will set you up for the long day ahead.
