The day of the storm
My little girl was happily singing
Walking back from school
Laughing merrily at the sun
Happy thoughts of lunch
Burger, milk and perhaps fries
Then all hell broke loose
God forgot to close the gates
The waters of fury rushed in
Without warning or notice
Swept my little joy away
I can't question why
Neither can I appeal to higher courts
Why my child was chosen
I could only cry and pray
That her soul will rest in peace
