Child support payments and the Fathers that hate them.

Looking at the type of society that we have now and how promiscuity is favored over monogamy or celebacy, child support is a regretted effect for some. In order to 'assess' child support upon a person, there HAD to have been some sort of showing that:

1. The putative father had access to the mother
2. That such access occurred around the timeperiod that the mother became pregnant

3. That the putative father provided for the care of the mother and/or the child
4. That the putative father visited the mother and/or the child or accompanied the mother to doctor visits
5. That the putative father 'held himself out' as the father or told others that he was the father of the child
6. Generally, this may or may not be followed up by a paternity test:

If you HAVE been served to appear in court for a child support/visitation/custody matter, the best way to be accessed child support is to NOT appear. This non-appearance is an admission of the issues to be decided. To contest such, you can appear in the court and either request that the judge/magistrate/hearing officer order a paternity test. You must understand, however, that IF the test shows that you ARE in fact the natural father of the child, you may be assessed child support from the date of the child's birth. Additionally, child support can continue PAST a child's 18th birthday if they attend college. You will also be responsible for a portion of the child's other expenses such as sports fees, childcare, etc. Child support is NOT just about money; it is about a relationship with the actual father of the child.

There are some people, however, who opt to provide for children and maintain a relationship with them. For these persons and the persons who actually gain custody of their children AND care for them themselves, I have much admiration AND respect for. There are too many men who have shirked their economic and emotional obligations concerning their children and merely went on to their 'next' conquest.

Fathering and being a Daddy is not merely a word; Your father is the one who provides care for you AND is there for you.

Without contesting paternity in the BEGINNING, many men have been assessed thousands of dollars which have affected their driving priviledges, work status, freedom from incarceration, and livelihoods. This is not a time where procrastination is on your side. Like the old adage goes: use it or lose it...Use your I'm not the natural father defense or Lose your Money...
