Novel excerpts: High school

by Jennifer Walker

Created on: October 04, 2009

Travis and Peyton met at the age of five and were fast friends they played together every chance they got. From the swings at recess to extra play dates and all the Birthday parties they could get to for friends. As they went through grade school, they have always remained friends. But as they got older and started high school, changes had started to happen, there, were some harder times on the horizon for the secure friendship.

Peyton was an outgoing beautiful young girl with sandy blond hair, that was always brushed and well cared for any girl at school would be jealous. And was friends with almost every one she met, She enjoyed almost all of the things offered at school from the sports like volleyball to the after school clubs like the yearbook.

The n at the other end of the scale was Travis, a very nice and quiet young boy, he had a few friends but quite often kept to himself, but to all the girls he came across he was always respectful, no doubt that influence came from very best friend Peyton.

The Friendship went through some harder times as they reached the age of High school. And as the world knows everyone goes through changes at the age of sixteen and Seventeen and Travis and Peyton were no exception.

Their First year at the high school was like any other with no problems, but as the days progressed the problems arrived to pop up and who would have thought these kids could be so mean. As their bodies changed, their personalities did too. And they often collided on most topics but still found a way to come back to the basics their friendship. As they closed in on the end of the first year the talked about graduation was all that was being said during school hours by everyone not only just the seniors. As Travis was just relaxing at home, he heard Peyton come into the house, as being friends for so long she had the often forgotten family privilege of just entering the house and heading straight for traverses room. When she got their she was so excited and he did not know why but he was sure it was not to do with him. He had not seen that smile in quite some time.

She was excited because one of the seniors graduating had asked her to his grad, it was rather unheard of but she was so excited, but Travis had his reservations. He would always look out for her know matter what. And he had a feeling this was going to be one of those times. But he could not ruin her moment. For now. Her face was glowing he had to fake his excitement for her when he asked her who it was, she said it was Aaron the valedictorian Deep inside he knew something was up and he was determined to find out who was out to mess and hurt Peyton.
