Eggs make for an excellent breakfast. They are nutritious, low in calories and packed with protein. And they are reasonably priced, so you can certainly afford to eat them. And to further the cause for eggs to be a routine breakfast item, they are simple to fry, scramble or boil. Below are a few easy ways to prepare eggs for breakfast.

* Scrambled

One of the easiest things to do is to scramble your eggs. To make a delicious scrambled egg, first heat a nonstick pan on your oven. Add a little bit of olive oil to further prevent sticking.

Next, crack two or three eggs and place them in a small bowl. Add a dash of salt and pepper. Then mix the eggs up with a fork, breaking the yolks.

Pour the egg mixture into the heated pan. Allow the eggs to cook for a few minutes, stirring on a relatively frequent basis. The eggs will start to set up, and they are done when they have solidified.

You can add shredded cheese, diced green onions, chopped bacon and diced tomatoes to your scrambled eggs to give them a bit more flair. They are also good when you sprinkle Tabasco sauce on them.

* Microwaved

One of the easiest ways to cook eggs is to microwave them. That's right - you can prepare the equivalent to scrambled eggs in your microwave in fewer than three minutes.

Simply create an egg mixture as you would to scramble eggs the traditional way. Then pour the egg mixture in a microwave-safe mug that you have sprayed with nonstick spray such as Pam.

Put the mug in the microwave on the high power setting for about two minutes. You can check your eggs after about a minute and a half. You will see the eggs rise in the cup as they cook.

* Hard-boiled

Do you like a hard-boiled egg with your toast and grits? Eggs are easy to boil, and you can easily prepare several at one time and snack off of them for the week.

To boil your eggs, place them in a pan and cover with water. Bring the water and eggs to a boil. Once the water has reached the boiling point, continue to let the eggs boil for 10 minutes.

After the eggs have finished boiling, immediately remove them and place them in a bowl that is filled with ice water. Allow them to sit for several minutes. This cooling off will make it easier to peel the shells from the eggs.

* Over easy

Eggs over easy are a classic and they are prepared in a flash. Simply pre-heat a nonstick pan over medium heat for several minutes. Then add a teaspoon of olive oil to coat the pan. Crack one or two eggs in the pan, being careful to keep the yolk intact. Allow the egg whites to cook, and then gently flip the eggs to the other side. Be gentle so the yolk will remain unbroken. Allow the egg whites to cook for about a minute or so, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and transfer to a plate for consumption.

Eggs are truly easy to prepare and will likely become a staple in your home. By adding cheese, salsa or vegetables to your eggs, you can easily create even more variety.
