Oh yes, non-candy treats for Halloween. This is great considering when you pull this off, you are an original. Everyone gives out candy so break away from the tradition and make it a different kind of holiday this year. When considering your options think about that cute little polyester dressed, make up smeared child on the other end. This little guy/gal has walked, dressed, and anticipated their way to this precious moment of goody unveiling.
=FUN & SAFE= LIGHT UP TOYS
Many of the party and dollar stores sell the squishy light up necklaces or bracelets. There's one of these rubbery star shaped things that illuminates when you squeeze it in different colors. Also, glow sticks are great. The kids love these and it allows everyone to see them in the night. All kinds of these bouncy light-up treats are available at your local mart stores as well.
=GOOD HYGIENE= TOOTHPASTE
Try handing out travel sized toothpaste or dental floss so the kids can get all of those sugars off their teeth. The kids will use these before their own, they will like that it is all theirs, obtained on their very own. It will even encourage them and remind them to love their teeth.
=SNACK TIME=
Get a couple of family sized bags of individually portioned chips, pretzels, or crackers. This will break up the monotony of all the sweets. After all saltiness is the perfect compliment to sweet. How do you think Reeses taste so delicious?
The ones that we stuff into goody bags for birthday parties. On this list: stickers, bouncy balls, plastic rings, pencils, jacks, spinning tops, and mini fun toys alike.
=ENTERTAINMENT=
Try little puzzles, a deck of cards, Sudoku books, little coloring books, or paperback story books. This is a great way to feed their minds and fill their time as well.
=PARTY BAG=
If it is in the budget, you can even head out to your party store and make goody bags stuffed with some of the items previously mentioned. You can hand out a goody bag to each child and you will be the neighborhood favorite that year among the children and the parents. It is a great way to share the wealth and see how thrilled the kids are to see a whole goody bag for under a hundred dollars for forty plus kids.
Plenty of items are available for purchase to make your Halloween more fun and unique. How much candy can you eat before you don't feel so good? That's no fun. So, have a great time mixing it up and standing out from the crowd this year.
